1. Who we are

Žinok ("we", "us") is a Lithuanian language learning app operated by Zinok, based in Lithuania. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this service.

2. What data we collect

• Account data: your email address and the date you created your account.
• Subscription data: your subscription status and the date you subscribed. Payment details (card number, billing address) are handled exclusively by Stripe and are never stored by us.
• Learning progress: vocabulary review history (SRS ratings and next-review dates) stored per word.
• Preferences: your selected level, stored locally on your device.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and personalise the app experience.
• To manage your subscription and verify access to paid content.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Third-party services

• Firebase (Google): authentication, database, and hosting. Data is stored on Google's servers. See Firebase Privacy.
• Stripe: payment processing. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. We never see or store your card details. See Stripe Privacy Policy.

5. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us (see below) and we will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

As a resident of the EU/EEA you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict processing of your data.
• Request a portable copy of your data.
• Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

7. Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to remember your level preference and session state. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at zinok.app/privacy.html. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
